Sprague Camerata plays "Sloan" for Viola and String Orchestra

  • Sprague High School 2373 Kuebler Boulevard Salem, OR, 97302 United States (map)

I really excited to be coming back to Salem to play with the Camerata again, it's wild to think how long it's been since I've been in that orchestra. I'm looking forward to it so much, it will be a lot of fun to be a part of the group again :)

About the piece:
"Sloan" is my middle name and gets it's melody from a piece he wrote as a memorial for members of his family. The name "Sloan" means warrior and reflects the spirit of the piece, which is that of birth, turmoil, relief, and discovery. This is conveyed through an improvised solo Viola part and various improvisations within the ensemble."
